Alexandria · Royal gardens and palaces
Coastal gardens and former royal palaces in eastern Alexandria. Decide which part you want to visit first: a palace standing inside the grounds does not mean its rooms are included in garden admission.

Admission
No current unified tariff has been verified. Hotel nightly offers on map panels are not admission prices.
Visit scope
Ask which areas admission includes and whether buildings or beaches have separate arrangements.
Location
El-Gaish Rd, Al Mandarah Bahri, Montaza 2. Confirm the permitted entrance before arranging arrival.
Understand the estate
Montaza is used in visitor information for the palaces and their surrounding gardens. Bibliotheca Alexandrina documents the estate’s development as a royal summer retreat; the Egyptian Presidency presents Al-Haramlik among its historic palaces.
That background is not a timetable for opening rooms or a ticket announcement. Do not assume garden admission includes the interiors of Al-Haramlik or Salamlek. Ask which areas are accessible before paying.
Information checked: 26 October 2026

Historic context
The royal estate developed around Salamlek and later Al-Haramlik, alongside gardens and coastal structures. Bibliotheca Alexandrina links the late nineteenth-century Salamlek project to Khedive Abbas Hilmi II and its design to Dimitri Fabricious.
Al-Haramlik has a different architectural presence, with towers, balconies and arches; the same publication associates its design with Ernesto Verrucci Bey. Look at the facades and planting from permitted areas without assuming interior access. The photographs record earlier years and do not establish today’s paths or services.
Documented photographs with capture dates. Planting and facades are different subjects: a facade photograph is not evidence of an accessible swimming beach.

We have not verified a current official schedule matching it, or that it covers every gate or building. Ask for the last entry and exit times of the area you intend to visit.
We do not present 50 EGP or a hotel rate as a current admission tariff. Confirm individual or vehicle charges, any age categories and whether additional areas or activities cost extra. This guide does not sell tickets.
Start from the approved entrance and choose part of the gardens and a return point. Adjust the distance to the actual heat, comfort and mobility needs of your group, leaving time to return before the confirmed closing time. No fixed duration guarantees seeing the whole estate.
The listed address is El-Gaish Rd, Al Mandarah Bahri, Montaza 2, Alexandria. The place marker helps identify the estate; it does not confirm a vehicle entrance or permitted drop-off point.
Share the place link, then confirm the entrance and drop-off point with management or your driver. Allow for congestion and your group’s needs rather than relying on a fixed journey time from downtown or the airport.
Check the service, route and stop with the transport operator for your travel date. We do not confirm a currently operating Abu Qir train, particular station or bus route here. Plan the return journey too.
Ask about surfaces, distances, wheelchair access and toilets before booking or arriving. Extensive gardens do not establish a continuous step-free route or a guaranteed internal transport service.
Arrange a break around your needs and check your chosen restaurant’s location and opening time before depending on it. This is not a verified list of operating venues inside or beside the estate.
The sea in a photograph does not mean a beach is publicly accessible or safe for swimming. Ask which area is open and under what conditions; garden admission is not a permit for a marine activity.
If you add a museum or another district, check its location, admission and hours separately. Choose according to actual distances rather than treating several stops as a guaranteed short tour.

The Google Maps listing checked on 26 October 2026 shows 08:00–00:00 Sunday–Thursday and Saturday, and 24 hours on Friday. This is a third-party listing, not a verified official timetable for the palaces or every garden area. Confirm last entry and exit before travelling.
No current official tariff has been verified. Ask management or the entrance ticket desk for the charge and what it includes. Hotel accommodation and nightly offers are not garden admission tickets.
We do not confirm current general-public interior access to either building. A historic description or photograph does not establish entry; ask about any special opening and its conditions.
It depends on the open areas, your chosen route, walking ability and rest stops. Choose a suitable scope and allow time to return rather than relying on a duration promising the entire estate.
Ask about the available route, surfaces, steps, distances and facilities before visiting. We do not document a continuous barrier-free route or guaranteed internal transport.
Check photography rules for the specific area and avoid restricted places. Neither the sea nor an old photograph establishes permission or safe swimming conditions; follow current local instructions.
Both are common spellings of the same Alexandria estate. Use the place link and address to identify it, then confirm the entrance accepting visitors.
