Staying in the Montaza and Al Mandarah area

This is the closest you can reasonably base yourself to the estate, which helps if you want early visits, repeated visits, or a short trip to the gate.

The trade-off is that you are on the eastern edge of the city. If most of your plans are in central Alexandria, you will be travelling back and forth along the corniche.

The broader eastern corniche

The eastern corniche, including areas such as Sidi Bishr, offers a wider spread of accommodation and a coastal setting while keeping you on the eastern side of the city. It balances proximity to Montaza with more of a district around it.

This is a reasonable middle choice if you want the coast and the estate without committing to the immediate gate area.

Central Alexandria

Central Alexandria puts you closer to the downtown corniche, the classic restaurants and the city other museums and sights. If Montaza is only one part of your trip, this can mean less total travel.

The catch is that every Montaza visit then becomes a longer journey along El-Gaish Road, especially at busy times.

Criteria to weigh

  • How close you want to be to the estate gate
  • How you will travel: car, taxi or public transport
  • Whether most of your plans are eastern or central
  • Whether you intend to return to Montaza more than once
  • How much of your time you will spend in the city centre

How we chose the hotels we name

We do name hotels on this page, because a verified name is more useful to a visitor than criteria alone. Each one below was checked against public listings on 4 November 2026.

What we do not do is rank them. We publish no star ratings, no prices and no paid links, and nothing here is a commercial recommendation. Judge each hotel on its position, its recent reviews, and how realistic the transport to Montaza is for you.

Hotels inside the Royal Gardens

For staying as close as possible to the estate, two named hotels sit at or beside the Royal Gardens themselves.

Both are the closest named options to the gate, which helps for early or repeated visits. Confirm current operation and access on the day.

  • Palestine Montaza Alexandria (Helnan Palestine) — inside the Montaza Royal Gardens, with a private beach
  • The Palace Hotel - Adults Only — on El Gaish Road, at the Montazah Royal Gardens, for adults only

Hotels on the eastern corniche

A little further out along the coast, the Hilton Alexandria Corniche sits at the east end of the city, close to the gardens, and is described as family-oriented, with a private beach. It balances proximity to Montaza with more of a district around it and the facilities of a larger hotel.

We do not publish prices or ratings, so confirm availability and details with the hotel on the day.

Hotels further west

If the city centre matters to you as much as the estate, a hotel further west such as the Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano puts you closer to central Alexandria and its dining and sights.

The trade-off is that every Montaza visit becomes a longer journey along El-Gaish Road, especially at busy times.

How we checked these hotels, and how to confirm them

We confirmed each name above against public listings on 4 November 2026. We did not record prices, star ratings, phone numbers or availability.

Before you book, check the hotel on the map, read recent reviews, and confirm access to the estate and the transport you will use. If one option does not fit, the same areas offer alternatives.

  • Check the hotel’s position on the map and its recent reviews
  • Confirm access and transport to Montaza before you book
  • Note that we publish no prices, ratings or links
  • Consider how often you will travel to the estate
